Bats are symbolic of transformation, depth and rebirth; they reside in the belly of our mother, to be reborn from their dark and watery caves each evening, fluttering in chaotic bursts of energy before delving back into the depths to rest and recharge. They have the ability to 'see' in the darkness by following their intuition and communicating with the landscape around them. They have become a personal guide for me over these darkening months, encouraging me to stay grounded and nourish myself as the days turn colder and the evenings shorter.
